The book is now in the hands of others. I have packaged it up and sent it off into the hands of a few beloved volunteers who have graciously offered to read this very rough draft and help me improve it. I’ll admit it was difficult to hit send. I am still unsure as to whether this is something anyone is going to want to read, but in the end there is only one way to find out.
I am fortunate to have a few teachers reading the book for me. The young protagonist in the story suggests that it might appeal to a school-age audience even if it isn’t carefully crafted for that purpose. I tried to create a character that my daughter would someday love, and I think the folks reading this are going to have a good feel for whether or not I managed it.
I also managed to find a group of people I trust to be honest with me. This process will tell me a lot about the future of this book.
